Help & FAQ
Everything you need to get started with NoSignup Diagrams. Each editor also lists its keyboard shortcuts in the panel on the right.
Getting started
Adding shapes
Click a shape in the Shapes panel to add it to the middle of the screen, or drag it to an exact spot on the canvas. Double-clicking an empty area adds the most common shape of the current diagram type.
Connecting shapes
Hover over a shape to show its four blue connection dots, then drag a dot onto another shape. Select a connector to change its label, colour, line style, routing (orthogonal, straight or curved) and arrow ends.
Editing text and style
Double-click a shape or connector to edit its text directly; use Shift+Enter for a new line. Colours, size, font size and border are in the properties panel on the right.
Moving around
Drag an empty area of the canvas (or hold Space) to pan, and use the mouse wheel to zoom. Fit in the bottom corner shows the whole diagram.
Saving and opening projects
Click Save (Ctrl+S) to download your project as a .zip file. In Chrome and Edge the save dialog opens on your desktop. To continue later, click Open (Ctrl+O) or simply drag the .zip file onto the page — if it belongs to another diagram type, the right editor opens automatically.
Exporting
Export PNG downloads a high-resolution image; Export PDF creates an A4 document with your project title. In the ER diagram editor, Export SQL generates CREATE TABLE statements.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account?
No. All editors are free and work without registration or login.
Where are my diagrams stored?
Only on your own device. Nothing is uploaded to our servers. If you close the tab without saving, your work is lost — the site warns you before you leave.
Can I continue working on a diagram later?
Yes. Save the project as a .zip file and open it again with the Open button, or drag it onto the page. The diagram, title and view are restored exactly.
Can I use my diagrams commercially?
Yes. The diagrams you create belong to you, and you can use exported images and PDFs anywhere, including in commercial projects.
Which browsers are supported?
Recent versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. Choosing the save location (for example the desktop) is available in Chrome and Edge; other browsers save to the downloads folder.
Does it work on phones and tablets?
The editors work on tablets and large phones, but drawing is easiest with a mouse on a larger screen.
Is there an undo function?
Yes. Use the Undo and Redo buttons or Ctrl+Z and Ctrl+Y. The history is kept until you open another project or reload the page.
How do I change the language?
The site starts in your browser's language. Use the globe menu in the top bar to choose any of the 11 available languages; your choice is remembered on this device.
